I have several ideas for potential internships that fall into two categories, which I will explain below.

1. Seeing as I want to go into the video game industry after I graduate, a video game company would be a good choice for this project. Even though there aren’t too many such companies that are local in either my hometown or in Orono, I was able to find a few possibilities. In Boston are two major video game companies, Rockstar New England and Turbine, Inc., that interest me. I also recently found out about a more local game company, Eagre Games, which actually has an office here in Orono. While Rockstar and Turbine are more than likely dead ends, it’s still worth a shot, and helping a local business isn’t such a bad idea either.
2. In case none of those ideas work out, I have some backup plans. Through my dad, I know some people who are high up in or own small tech companies, one of which is focused on 3D printing. Although not my first choice, any of these would be worthy alternatives should none of my other plans work out.
