Humane Slaughter

From what I have gathered for research of Humane Slaughter, I have come to the conclusion that it is not just about how we slaughter the food that we eat, but also how we treat the food when it lives. It is just as important to treat the animals with care and compassion while they are alive than it is to slaughter them in the least painful way. It is clear that we as humans have empathy, so it is not so hard for us to see an animal in pain or suffering. When we don’t see or know about this suffering then we are less likely to care about it at all. Educating the public to these topics helps to pave a better path to the way that we grow and receive our food.

Urban Apiary/Agriculture

Since over 80% of Americans live in Urban areas, it only makes sense to integrate agriculture in any way possible. Growing certain foods on roof tops or even having an apiary to help the bee population. Whatever the case may be, it only makes sense to spread the word of bringing agriculture to urban areas. There’s no cost and only great benefit.
