It is not often that those like myself fear our access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food, but on a global scale, Food Security, is a substantial issue that centralizes on unfair distribution. With corruption across availability, access, and use, it is so easy to take for granted what someone would consider vital. There is undoubtedly enough food on this earth to adequately feed everyone, the problem is supplying and distributing the food. However there is no sign in decline or halt in the substantial population increase which only gives way to further unsustainability.

 

The food industry has one of the largest employment groups by far and yet millions still starve. This is because instead of working towards granting equal and sustainable access to food among all peoples we instead commercialize for maximum profits. It is essential to see food as less of a commodity and more of a basic right that all humans should have access to. We need a more secure future.
