Fake News Experiment:

For my project I wanted to bring awareness to the potential for fake news on social media. What I wanted to do is make a fake news organization that I would publish a couple of stories on there that would be believable enough that people wouldn’t really think twice about the facts but crazy enough that made people talk about the news in the article. After, this I would share one of those articles on a platform like Facebook. I will track to see who shares the article and who makes comments on this article. After a few days I will eventually come out and tell people that the article was fake and that people should really fact check the articles that they share on social media so prevent an influx of fake news in society. This wouldn’t cost that much money to develop this idea. The only thing this idea would cost would be time. I feel it would take some time to flush out the perfect story that finds a happy medium of crazy and believable. It would just take time to develop the site. This would show how people should really be careful of where they get their news from.
