Approach 1—FrankO

The application that I came up with would inform people when the gym too crowded, so they would plan on going earlier or later than originally planned. The app would inform users the activity of specific places in the gym, for example the pool, the weight rooms, the basketball courts, the sauna etc.

The app will be an interactive app, so the users would play a big part in updating other users about the activity in the gym. I’m also thinking of a way that information would be gathered when people get swiped in at the front. The person at the front desk would swipe a card and they would ask what the person plans on doing while at the gym, based on the answer the information would be put in the system and it would be another way of informing users, in case someone does not have the app.

The one piece of information that was not clear was the prediction graph. This is a graph that would show what the gym would look like on a certain day a few hours ahead of the current time. This information would be based on what the traffic of the weeks before for that certain day. This is just another way of planning your gym day.

The idea that inspired me is the app Waze. Waze is an app that gives people directions to destinations. What makes this app different is that users can inform other users if a cop is nearby on the route that they are traveling, or if there’s an obstruction on the road.

As far as budget it’s still not clear because this would involve a lot of people. Someone would be needed to develop the app, and the system that would be used at the front desk at the gym. That’s where most of the money would go, when it comes to designing a logo, or the layout, I would be involved in that part of it.
