Background

Today in 2018 we live in a very materialistic society. I am aware that I view myself through purchases that I’ve made like my phone, my car, and my clothes. What interests me about this topic is that we see ourselves on the inside and that’s what we view as an autobiography but how we present ourselves is where our true personalities show. The morals and views of a person aren’t what people think about when they view the image of a person, it is what’s on the outside.

“You are what you eat” is a phrase that we all have heard in our lives. It means we should eat good healthy food if we want to be a good healthy person. Food is representing who we are. I think at the present time the same goes for what we shop for online, especially a marketplace like Amazon. A storer like Amazon where you can buy clothes and groceries and any of your entertainment needs is a perfect representation of one’s self and their interests.

I would like to make a visual that shows a person and it is connected to the Amazon order history of that person. This image will how the person in the center of a room and the room starts filling up with every single item that person has ever ordered from Amazon. Most likely the person will start to be covered by what they own and instead of being represented by themselves they are represented by the objects they have purchased.

Budget

A program like this to make and visualize could take several months to complete with a programmer and visual designer to complete the work

The median salary for a programmer is $35 per hour

The median salary for a visual designer is $22 per hour
