Approach 2 -IsaacS

Autobiography Approach

Synopsis:

Over the past years in school I have found myself lacking the ability to create works that I am interested in. Some of the work I have created has not been within the interest that I have. I also have found myself lacking the time to pursue ideas that captivate me. This combined with the limited free time has led me to feel as if I haven’t been creative for my personal artistic pursuit in awhile. This is in part due to my inherent need/unknowing result of boredom resulting in procrastination. Ideally, I would be able to complete all of my school work and have time to pursue ideas that would help me develop creatively and expand my portfolio and artistic abilities. As as result, I intend to create 3 pieces of work per month that reflect my desire to create, and my desire to pursue certain concepts outside of pieces specified for New Media. Ideally, I would like each piece to use a different medium in its creation.

Title: “Redirecting My Procrastination”

The aim of this is to not only boost my personal portfolio, but also to keep practicing and creating in order to widen my expertise. I wish to maintain my ability to create work that is relevant and new, and this is a way to organize and motivate myself.

Budget: At most, $100 to cover material costs.

1st Piece of Work (to be revised later): A short late night DJ mix I put together (don’t mind the mistakes, it was truly a late night)       http://isaacsanterre.nmdprojects.net/NMD_206/Mix_One.wav

Other Example Work: I created this short preview an advertisement for a longer film: https://youtu.be/MPtpJrBvtHI

  • If you’re doing a narrative piece or interviewing piece, think of the time it’ll take to track down actors or subjects to interview. The more people you use in a project, the less time you’ll have to actually shoot/record. Just something to consider.

  • i like the idea of focusing on your own creativity and making something you want to make;
    can you find a way to have this project show –maybe even indirectly–who you are? e.g. your video suggests someone grappling with fear of the unknown…most people have this, how is your different?
