Approach1 – JasonD
Background:
The news doesn’t really supply to the users what they want to hear. In this project, it is a many-to-many strategy to bring the news from the many people to the many people. The project is an attempt to use what many people already observe to transmit news information.
Explanation:
Cat videos is a huge portion of cyber culture, for whatever reason. There are a huge wealth of media materials that this project can take advantage of, from video collages, or just single videos.
Users have the ability to submit audio files of themselves reporting on news that they feel is important. There are no names or email addresses that people need to sign into. All users have to do is submit an audio file. There is no set particular news source that the information comes from, and perhaps it would be possible for users to find videos to pair their audio file with and have it submitted for some sort of administrator or moderator group to evaluate and approve the posts.
This approach focuses on bringing news that matter to the people to others. It would help users gain a better understanding of what is really the biggest concern of citizens of their local, national, or world communities. This removes syndicated news sources from the supply chain, and would hopefully reduce the bias that the organizations would normally supply.

The mock-up design was entirely my work. However. Graphics were used from assorted sites from ABC, FOX, CNN. I used Youtube to grab images of the video player and the feed.
Simple Budget for estimated cost
Costs would involve a server, and some sort of streaming service These things are not cheap and I would consider them to be beyond my current pay grade.
However, developing the technology and software to handle this sort of work would be easily sourced, or developed. Many users will be able to access the site as it will be web-based, so user expenditures would be zero.
$800 Basic Server
$120/ month streaming service for media transfer.
