Autobotography Approach- AndreaJ
Mini Me
Background-
Originally my intent was to create a mini action figure of myself and create objects that interest me to represent my personality. This was going to be done by using a structure scanner to scan my body for the 3D model of the action figure. I wanted to make sure that the figure was recognizably me and represented my interests.
New Idea-
But unfortunately i have run into more problems than i have anticipated. The structure scanner is giving me detail problems, the scan doesn’t come out as detailed as i would like it to. I have tried using multiple different programs and methods but nothings seems to look as good as i wish it would. One of the more successful scans made my feet look like they merge into the floor so i decided to embrace my tree trunk form and rather than making a regular action figure i decided it’d be fun to be unique and actually turn myself into a tree.
So the scan i have looks like a tree trunk from the waist down and from the waist up you can see its a human body. My arms are raised above my head so on top of me i’ll be holding the top of a tree. My hands will merge into tree branches and there will be leaves growing off my hands (aka. branches).
Reasoning-
My reason for changing my original idea is because of the fact that i looked like a tree but to go more in depth, nature and trees are my biggest interests besides art. I enjoy being one with nature and taking my time to admire the outdoors all around me so when i noticed that my scan looked like i was turning into a tree i was thinking how ironic, I’m morphing into my favorite thing on earth. So the idea stuck with me, i’d love to be a tree and when it comes to art i can be whatever i want so why not be a tree? I can become my greatest interest. My personality is represented in my appearance.
