A place to laugh at and criticize your own art

For my autobotography idea I want to represent who I am as an artist. I have been doing art since as long as I remember, and shows a pretty big part of who I am, and how far I’ve come. However, I don’t want to showcase my art in the usual way, where I will look at my pieces positively.

Instead, I want to create a sort of online art gallery of my work from various time periods in my life, and bash on them. I want to give very harsh critiques that make fun of my old work, as if they were the scum of the earth. Reason for this is because I find myself naturally disgusted by my old work, as do many artists or producers of any media when they look at how far they’ve come. A picture that could have taken hours to complete, and you took so much pride in at the time, could be laughable in the present day due to how much you’ve changed. This is not to put anyone else down, but more like give us the chance to laugh at ourselves, and even show other people how we improve out skills, so they can learn what not to do.

I want this idea to show what goes on in my mind when I look back at my own pieces so people get a sense of who I used to be, and how I view my past self. It’s also my way of showing that we all start somewhere, and that we can approve greatly upon anything we want to. There is also a nostalgic aspect I get looking at my old work.

If I created this project, I would want it to be a open space for people to create their own “awful” galleries and describe their past pieces of “trash”.

As for a budget, costs would be spent on buying an online domain, and probably people to help code and build the site since I don’t yet have the knowledge and skill set to do it myself. A project like this would take a few months to boot up with a decent interface and design.
