EcoArt Approach_MatthewB

Introduction

So in the last post I went in-depth to show exactly what makes up a aquaponic system. I went further in this approach to design a basic system to show you a visualization as to what I had in mind.

Budget

I did a very general budget in the intent, but for the size of products that I am looking for I would end up needing around 110$ to fully produce this project… I have decided to utilize the woodshop that’s available at the IMRC. For the size of the project I would require around 10$ in wood, as well as around 10$ for a walnut style wax/stain for aesthetics.

Timeline

After everything is purchased it would take around 5 hours to assemble the grow tray and put everything together. After that I would just have to PH the water, and make sure the fish are healthy and fed… After that it would just take some time for the plants to begin to sprout and begin to grow. If I were to grow an herb such as basil the seeds take between eight and 14 days to germinate and emerge from the soil. After germination it would take around 12-14 days for leaves to begin to grow.
