One sentence summary/abstract:
Examine how aquaculture in Maine is combating climate change and how Maine residents can help attribute to the fight against climate change.

2-3 paragraph description:
I think it’s interesting how in today’s world technology is advancing, yet our natural world is rotting around us. I would like to examine how we can use our advancements in technology to either promote healthier habits in relation to how we live day by day and/or how we are using our developments to combat the damage we’ve already done to Earth. Aquaculture is a particularly interesting solution, as that is something that is gaining some traction in Maine. The Maine Aquaculture Innovation Center has several currently funded projects that are dedicated to increasing popularity and advancements within the realm of Aquaculture. These research projects can ultimately lead to new and exciting prospects to help end, or at least combat, climate change.

All of this information can get boring, which I think is a major factor as to why the general public is ignorant about Maine Aquaculture. For my project, I would like to create a short informational video that could be played in public places and on social media (Facebook would be an excellent platform for something like this). My main goal is to not only be informative but to be fun and exciting. If I can capture someone’s attention through a minute long video, I think it could make an impact and get the ball rolling towards Maine Aquaculture education. I’ve included a video at the bottom of this post, that video is the kind of thing I want to make, but with more pictures. But that is my idea of a cute, fun video.

Rough budget:
Material: Some kind of video making software, be it After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc…$20+tax
Time: Between collecting information, organizing, and compiling…60 hours…$200+tax
Build: Putting together the video in a fun and informative manner…$100+tax

Total Estimated Cost: $350
