Ecotech – LiwenC

Main Idea: A huge ongoing issue people are dealing with for a long time now is pesticides. With many health related problems that occurs alongside the environmental damage. In this project I will be focusing on blueberries, a main part of farming in Maine.

Inspirations: This project is inspired by the book Silent Spring, written by Rachel Carlson, after reading this book in my Honors reading class, I realized how much of a problem pesticides still is to the environment today, and that we have been trying to control this issue for a long time now.

Summary: The main intent of this project is to build a website that is easily accessible and can teach everyone about the problems of pesticides occurring everywhere. The website will have information about the differences between organic and non organic farming. Focusing on one of the main items being farmed here in Maine, blue berries.

Budget:

• $30 – $50 dollar a hour for website programming and design.
• 5 – 10 hours of meaningful research.
