Hacktivism Intent- Isaac S

In the modern scope of political systems, social media has played a massive role in influencing the decisions of both the voters and sometimes the politicians.  Yet it has become extremely clear that civil action only renders little influence over political decision making. Massively organized protests have become the only way of showing displeasure, yet even this holds small regard in the scale of the political agenda. Special interests groups and lobby run corporations with massive amounts of wealth hold more power than the collective citizens. Yet, the most powerful influence that citizens can use to send a message went completely underutilized in the previous election. Voting is the single most important civil action that exists, for it directly influences the decisions that will be made by the government, decisions that WILL effect every voter and every different socioeconomic status. Yet voter participation has dropped and at alarming rates. By not utilizing constitutionally granted rights, there is a inherent disregard for the future.

My idea is to create a non-partisan voter registration app that bypasses the need for voters to wait in lines at state buildings and (hopefully) entice more people to vote. This app will also contain a notification ability that adds reminders to important political events approaching. Ideally, it would also have a comparison page during important elections which could help voters find the candidate that most accurately supports their interests.

The app will target millennials, and older senior citizens by having simple interface and quick access to see individualized voter preferences.
