Virtualtunnel
My idea is to create my own VPN(Virtual Private Network). For those who are unfamiliar with VPN’s, a VPN makes it so that it can be impossible for anyone to see one’s encrypted traffic while using the Internet. With every VPN I’ve looked for online, one has to pay in order to download and use it.
The way a VPN works is that it redirects all of one browser’s device traffic through an encrypted tunnel so that anyone trying to look at someone’s device traffic won’t be able to see it.
One way to do this would be to use a Raspberry Pi. I’ve seen an article online showing that it’s possible to do that and it sounds like that would be the easiest way around this.
Estimated financial budget:
A Raspberry Pi computer costs about $40 for the newest model from what I’ve found. I would also need an SD card that has at least 8 GB of space on it, which usually costs about $10 at Best Buy. I would also need an Ethernet cable for connecting , which would cost roughly $5. Judging by some research I’ve done, it would cost around $60 to work on everything else, which would bring it to $115 overall at the bare minimum.
Estimated budget(time):
I have no experience with building VPN software at all, but judging from what I’ve read online I would say that it would take 6 months to develop all of this.
