Stop Planned Obsolescence

Apple used to be the company that everyone looks up to when it comes to releasing outstanding products that will be both innovating and have topnotch quality, but in recent times that seems to be not the case. With the recent release of the iPhone X, it has been found that Apple has been designing their past phones with planned obsolescence in mind. That means the phones were designed so that they would slow down as new products come out. This is totally not fair to customers, that use their hard earned money to buy apple products.

The new media strategy that I will integrate into this project is cultural jam. By altering the log that the Apple brand uses. The logo is a key identity that customers use to identify any brand, so once I have changed this logo, it will reveal of the company true intent.

I plan to spread these images around in Instagram, with the hashtag, badapple, so that every time this image is being passed around, this message will be passed a long as well, so that people can understand the intention behind. As well as making a page that is mainly focused on this idea so that after seeing the image and hashtag, people can find a place with all the information about the project.

Budget:

Photoshop: $20 a month.

Design: $30 – $50 dollars a hour for designers to come up with professional logos.
