In the video about hacking it was interesting to see the evolution of hacking, from telephones to modern computers. I never really considered that hacking originated with tapping into the phone lines and evolved as technology did. It was interesting how the police found certain people and tried to make examples of them. Giving them harsher sentences that the maybe deserved to try and scare people off from hacking.
I thought the concept of one to one, one to many and many to many was an interesting concept. I had never really thought of it like that before. Before computers and the invention of the internet almost all connections where one to one or one to many. Its only been in the recent years that many to many communication has had a platform to thrive. New Media is based of the concept of many to many communication and interaction. Many to many communication makes things more interactive and innovative.
I liked the example of the DIY revolution swell as the crowd sourcing. These concepts are empowered by many to many communication. DIY projects many people contribute to the project or idea and many people use that information to make there own. Crowdsourcing uses a large group of people to accomplish tasks and goals. New media make things possible that have never been done before.
