When people ask me what I like about New Media it’s a simple answer to me it’s the possibilities that new media has that allows you to explore so much that your mind creates. In other fields “the way” to do things is already set and you pretty much just have to follow that. Where in New Media if you want t experiment with something different it’s not only ok it’s encouraged. That’s what makes New media a great field to get into. I have met so many different types of people in my classes and they all have interests in different parts of New Media this offers a significant opportunity for collaboration on different ideas.

That is one thing that I have noticed in a lot of my classes about what new media has the potential for. The collaboration potential, when you have multiple people working on the same thing all from different backgrounds and interests this allows you to look at the problem from different angles. I find when one person looks at a problem you get stuck in a box that you can’t get out of when you’re trying to solve a problem. Where if multiple people look at the problem one will see one thing where another will see the problem totally different and could possibly solve it.

Overall, New Media is all about doing things different from the guy before. This is something I don’t see in a lot of fields in the world today. This is one thing that intrigues me quite a bit with New Media.
