I really enjoyed the project titled “Neglected Ruins” this gave me inspiration for a potential project. During our discussion I came up with the idea of wanting to help the Bangor Humane Society, I’ve been a volunteer at the shelter in past years and have always wanted to help spread the word about adopting cats and dogs. The Neglected Ruins project gave me the idea to possibly create biodegradable stickers that contain an image of a dog or cat that is currently at the animal shelter. They would contain the pets name, the Bangor humane society logo and a QR code that would link the viewer back to the pets page on the Bangor Humane Society website. Each pet on the website gets a general description of their breed, age, and occasionally a small paragraph about them. I think this could be a new and interactive way to get the people of Bangor (and surrounding areas) to interact more readily with the Humane Society as well as get more pets adopted quickly into new homes.
In addition to the stickers, I also thought of creating a small website where sticker users could go and post images of themselves with their adopted pets and write stories about their experiences in adopting. I think this would be a positive way for people who adopt pets to connect on a new level.
The Bangor Humane society has an overabundance of volunteers and has to frequently turn people down who wish to volunteer simply because they cannot handle that many people at once. This could potentially be an opportunity for volunteers to go out into down with dogs and walk them about Bangor and the surrounding towns to get them more acquainted with unknown people as well as getting them out of the kennels.

Does BHS have a current website? could your idea be added to it?
could you also involve social media? funny pet of he day? or pet story of the day?
maybe crowdsource it? create buzz around pet adoption stories or animal personality stories?
could a loose associate of volunteers use social media to get buzz going? could this be linked to stickers?
