Oceans welfare
Today the Oceans are getting polluted at alarming rates. How could we stop polluting our waters and planet?
Share what was inaccessible/visualize data:
Manufacturing companies leave a huge foot print on this planet. But the average consumer has no idea which companies are environmentally conscious or not. This next plan would be to get environmental data from the leading top companies and make public how much of a carbon footprint they have.
This could lead to people making purchases off the companies who are not destroying this planet. This data could be put into a visual array that is easy to understand and compare. Companies put under the spot light might start acting more environmentally conscious.
Tap into local networks:
Every year eight million tons of plastic trash end up in the ocean. If people started shopping with reusable bags this would cut down on the plastic we use. People are not motivated to bring bags overtime they shop. They forget or its a hassle.
My proposed system could be a membership program. You pay a fee when you sign up that go to ocean conservation programs. Next overtime you go shopping you can scan your card and grab bags out of the machine. After a month of shopping you notice a pile of bags collecting in your kitchen you simply put your bags back in the machine to be sterilized an go shopping. This way if you forget your bags one time you can still prevent bags from entering the ocean.
I think a fee should be implemented in grocery stores for people who do not bring there own bags. These fees would go toward ocean conservation and recycling programs to help maintain this planet.
Aggregate, automate, and visualize data:
This method could be used to bring light to the current state of our oceans. People know the ocean is polluted but don’t quite understand how polluted. An interactive Virtual reality scenarios could be a good way to to help educate and shock people into changing there lifestyles.
The scenarios could range from drone videos of the “plastic bag islands” forming in the middle of the ocean to what the sea is going to look like in 10-25 years. These videos compiled with tips of how to cut down on our usage of plastic and non recyclable goods could help slow down the damage being done to the ocean.

Many European Nations do this: I think a fee should be implemented in grocery stores for people who do not bring there own bags.
What you are talking about is to “regulate” i.e. create legals regulation to encourage people to behave responsibly
Many market fundamentalists oppose regulations like this, so if government won’t do it, how can people self-regulate?
