Response 2- MatthewL

While in college all students are required to buy textbooks or other class resources that just seem over priced and or really not overall that beneficial at all. Personal I have seen this in my past 3 semesters here at Umaine.  For example last semester  I was asked to buy 3 text books totaling $250. The most expensive one I bought for $129 and only was only asked to read half of a chapter out of it on the first day of class. At the end of semester when going back to try and resell it I was only offered $5 for the book which was still in new condition. I was outraged.

Now in this new semester I have saved myself $300 dollars on books and class supplies. I did this just by simply asking friends if I could borrow their books, buy them off of them at a reasonable price or trade them something for a book.

The solution that I came up with to fix this is to design a website where students can openly put class supplies that they are in search or selling.  The goal of this website would be to save students money and cut the bookstore out of the equation entirely. Actually spending a lot of my free time learning web development tools and best practices I plan on actually building a platform in the coming weeks.
