Response 2- Taylor Pullen
Nobody Here-
Nobody here is really a website “for the people.” It is exactly what you want to take away from it. Personally for me, it is extremely overwhelming. Every click takes you somewhere new and it’s like those Pick Your Adventure books where you’re almost guaranteed a different ending each and every time. “Nobody here” is quite literally how my brain feels trying to navigate the site. It is overwhelming and overstimulating to such an extent I feel like my brain totally shuts off. It mostly reminds me of “google deep dive” videos frequently made by Youtubers where they literally just start from one point and end up clicking on various links on every page until they’re wildly deep into the internet. It’s really hard to write more on this, but like I said. It’s for the people and up for interpretation.
Jennicam-
This almost reminds me of the first real world example of the Truman Show. I don’t know how I feel about this comfortably because I think it turned into less of an educational thing and turned more into a live porn show which is what a majority of her viewers were there for. I think this was a big turning point in crossing the border of real life to the internet and really lifted the wool from our eyes as to the lives we think people on the internet live compared to the lives they actually live. I think this also started the revolution of television shows that had the “live” atmosphere such as Jersey Shore and Big Brother. It really is interesting and without this article I really wouldn’t have had any idea who she was.
