\u201cIdentity\u201d can mean many different things for different people. Some people have a fixed identity that doesn\u2019t change because they hold their identity close to them, while others have trouble forming an identity of their own. Everything you post publicly on social media automatically has the potential to reach an enormous amount of people.<\/p>\n
Portraying one\u2019s identity on social media proves to complicate that word even more because you can portray yourself as anything on social media, even as somebody else.<\/p>\n
For my project, I\u2019d like to make a short video featuring either myself, others, or both. My intention is to compile footage of people talking, perhaps I\u2019d make a prompt so the dialogue is kind of similar. Once I have enough footage of each person talking, I\u2019d break the speech into clips, and rearrange the clips and make them say something completely different. I know it would be blatant that the video\u2019s been chopped up and spun around, but I think it would still be effective in emphasizing the fact that people aren\u2019t always representing themselves\/identity in an effecting manner. I’ve seen things like this before, like editing footage of news people and making it a song, and in other means, but I’ve never seen it directed towards younger people who have various presences on social media.<\/p>\n
