3D video project of various landscapes affected by climate change around the world.<\/em><\/h2>\nView<\/em>\u00a0is inspired by\u00a0An Inconvenient Truth (2006)<\/em> and\u00a0Chasing Ice (2012)<\/em>, two documentaries focused on the effects of climate change on our planet. Functionality wise, it’d be a set of 3D cameras that take photos over time that can be compiled into a video time-lapse. Chasing Ice<\/em> took six years\u00a0to make, with over 8,000 photos taken a year at various glaciers all over the world.\u00a0This project, unlike Chasing Ice\u00a0<\/em>would benefit the world because it would focus on global impact, not just glaciers.<\/p>\nIt’s an important project because we, as a species, are destroying our habitat. Climate change is a compounding problem that becomes harder and harder to correct the longer we ignore it,\u00a0Truth<\/em> came out in 2006 and definitely shook things up (and has a sequel coming out soon), but Ice\u00a0<\/em>was focused on the glacial issue. I want to explore the world and find the places that are being effected outside of the Arctic and Antarctic Circles to show people that it’s truly a global issue\u2013 not just for polar bears.<\/p>\nMy budget is based on\u00a0the budget for\u00a0Chasing Ice\u00a0<\/em>since I’ve never created a feature length film.\u00a0Ice\u00a0<\/em>had a budget of $1.3 million, so I’m assuming that’d be around half of what I’d need. They only used Nikon DSLRs and I’d probably be\u00a0using a 3D unit at each location to create the time-lapse with narration and text (interviews are weird to produce in 3D video) projected inside a sphere that the audience would view the film in.<\/p>\nTotal, I’d assume around $3 million to make the film over the course of a few years. Again, I can’t really give hard numbers since I don’t have any idea of what a feature of this kind would really cost.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
